Heather Holmes is a Charleston mom, children's book author, and entrepreneur. She writes poetry, nonfiction, and picture books, self-published via her own imprint, Cross the Teas.
Her mission is to combat injustice, to raise support for social issues such as neurodivergence, chronic illness and disability, poverty, and the welfare of women and children, and to promote trauma recovery and healing, self-love, and hope.
Her latest release is a self-help book for kids, Wings for Your Heart: A Healing Journey, a picture book of affirmations for kids and inner children who are recovering from abuse, trauma, or loss.
Ms. Holmes has an English degree from the College of Charleston and is halfway through a Master's in Digital Marketing. She is also the founder of Tidal Lantern, "Charleston's Literary Magazine," which spotlights local artists and writers from the South Carolina Lowcountry.
She lives nearby with her two sons, three cats, a three-legged great dane, a ferret, a tarantula, an axolotl, a rabbit, and eight fish tanks. When she isn't arguing with sloppily-coded HTML and PDF editors, she enjoys playing Second Life, tending flowers in her little garden, and designing fairy fashion for her boutique, The Cracked Teacup.
